A very, very
large panoramic skyscape. I decided to experiment and try something new. I've made panoramas by stitching multiple shots together, and I've made HDR images by tone-mapping multiple shots taken with bracketed exposures. Why not try both?
This was painstaking created by taking 3 shots each of 5 separate sections of sky. I then tone-mapped and exposure corrected each 3-shot set, then stitched the resulting shots into a panorama that was over 9k pixels wide. I decreased it slightly to make it fit 1600px tall.
Each tone-mapping and denoising pass took forever, but I'm happy with the results. I couldn't have asked for a more dynamic sky to practice with.My Stock Rules and News
